Dr. Shalini Shetty was born and raised in India. She received her medical degree from DR B.R. Ambedkar Medical College, a premier medical education institution in India. She completed residency in General Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, New York and went along to complete her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Northwell Health, New York.
Dr. Shetty comes with immense experience in treating patients across the lifespan with varied socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. She has experience managing patients in a variety of settings like inpatient, outpatient and emergency room. She has been practicing in Texas for the past six years. She is passionate about working with the special needs population (both children and adults) as well as individuals with first break of psychosis.
Trained in treating eating disorders and Tourette’s disorder, Dr Shetty specializes in treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Disruptive mood Dysregulation Disorder, Mood, Anxiety and Psychotic disorders.
Living in multiple states of the US including Illinois, NC, and NY with varied cultures and diverse populations, has aided her to engage with her patients in a nurturing and nonjudgmental manner.
She is Dual Board certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in both General Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She holds an unrestricted license to practice in Texas. She is multilingual (English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada) and believes in meeting individuals where they are and guiding them through the process of well being.
During her spare time, she loves to cook, read, travel and spend time with her family.
